Chocolate bark is a delicious treat that also happens to be beautiful and so much fun to make. When making chocolate bark you can add any type of nuts, seeds, or dried fruit to the mix. This dark chocolate almond bark might be one of my favorite combinations.
Type of Chocolate to Use
To make this bark you need dark chocolate and white chocolate. You can buy this in bar form or chocolate chips, whichever option is easier for you. I have found that using chocolate chips is easy because I can just add it to a bowl and microwave it and everything melts fairly smoothly.
Depending on your preferences you can also add more white chocolate if you like or even just milk chocolate instead. It is really up to you on the sweetness of the chocolate you use.
Chocolate Bark Toppings and Variations
The toppings for this bark recipe include almond slices, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, and hemp seeds. For the almonds you can use whole almonds or slivered almonds if you prefer.
For the dried fruit element feel free to skip the goji berries or use something different like dried cranberries or even dried strawberries.
The additional seeds can be anything you have. Chia seeds or flax seeds would be great additions or alternatives to hemp seeds. And if you don’t have pumpkin seeds throw on some extra almonds for that nutty flavor.
Common Questions
Can I make this without a microwave?
Yes, if you don’t have a microwave you can easily melt the chocolate on the stove. Just add the chocolate to a nonstick pot over low heat. Continuously stir until the chocolate is starting to melt then remove from the heat and keep mixing until everything is melted.
How do I store chocolate bark?
Store the chocolate bark in an airtight container. I like to keep it in the fridge to keep the chocolate from melting or getting sticky. It will stay in the fridge for up to a week.
Is this chocolate bark vegan?
This chocolate bark can easily be made vegan and dairy-free. Just make sure to choose vegan chocolate like the Enjoy Life dark chocolate and white chocolate chips.
