Whether you are new to zero waste living or you have been doing it for a long time, finding zero waste options isn’t always the easiest. That is why I find most of my everyday sustainable items online. Now there are more local store options, but the options really depend on where you live.
Here are my favorite zero waste brands you can find online.
Eco Friendly General Stores
There are specific websites you can go to buy each item individually, but there are a few shops that carry multiple brands. This makes it much easier to find what you want. Plus it requires less shipping than buying everything individually.
Earth Hero
If you are looking for a one stop shop for sustainable items, I would suggest Earth Hero. It is probably the largest option from the stores listed here. They have everything from home goods, to cleaning supplies, to gifts and toys.
Fillmore Wasteless
Fillmore has so many beauty and cleaning products to choose from. Their online shop has grown quite a bit and they always have new stuff.
Package Free
Package Free is a shop in New York that was started by Lauren Singer. They have a wide range of home and beauty items. They even have their own product line so you can find all your basics under their brand. They often have good sales around holidays so make sure to keep an eye out for those.
Zero Waste Laundry
There are a few ways to shop for zero waste laundry products. You can look for pods or laundry powder. My favorite brand is Dropps. They ship in all paper packaging and their products are all non-toxic and chemical free.
Zero Waste Cleaning Supplies
When it comes to cleaning supplies the best advice I can give is that you don’t need 100 different cleaning products. You just need a few good ones including an all purpose cleaner. That can get you through almost all of your needs.
Blueland
Blueland is probably my top favorite cleaning brand. You get your cleaning tablets in little compostable packaging. All you need to do is add water. They are fairly inexpensive and since they don’t have to ship the soap with all the water, the shipping impact is so much smaller. I use their all purpose cleaner and hand soap.
Dr. Bronner’s
Dr. Bronner’s has the classic 18 in 1 castile soap. You can use it for almost everything. It is great because it is a concentrate. You just use a little bit at a time with water. Also all of their packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic. You can often find their products in stores as well.
Sustainable Beauty Stores
One of the hardest things to find zero waste are beauty and makeup products. I think with this one you have to find what works best for you. I have a whole post on zero waste bathroom essentials that has a more deep dive into beauty products.
Credo
Credo is an online beauty store with multiple brands that are all non toxic. They aren’t all zero waste but they have some options. They also have a recycle program that you can send back any of your empty products.
Ethique
Ethique mostly sells hair products but they are venturing into new spaces with lotions and face washes. They have a wide variety of bars and concentrates.
