As fall approaches, I am looking for more ways to enjoy fall flavors like acorn squash. Acorn squashes have a sweet and robust taste that is a unique flavor to savor.

Honestly, I don’t cook with acorn squash a ton but every time I do I get excited to try it again. This year I am challenging myself to try and find some new ways to enjoy this squash.

There are many ways to cook an acorn squash. It is typically baked in the oven, but it can also be made in an air fryer or instant pot.

When cooking acorn squash it is often first cut in half and topped with oil and seasoning before being baked.

What to Look for When Picking an Acorn Squash

An acorn squash is ripe when it has smooth dull skin. You want to make sure there are no soft spots on the squash. If the squash is super shiny that might mean it is not ripe enough.
